Most dental problems start quietly. A regular exam catches them while they are still small, simple and inexpensive to treat — or, better, prevents them altogether.
At Studio Dentaire, the exam and cleaning is a real appointment, not a formality: we look at your teeth, your gums and your tissues, and we take the time to explain what we see.
Why regular visits matter
- Catch cavities before they cause pain
- Monitor gum health, the leading cause of adult tooth loss
- Remove the tartar no toothbrush can
- Screen soft tissues, including for oral cancer
- Fine-tune your home routine with practical advice
What to expect
- Step 1
Check-in
We review your general health, medications and anything on your mind — sensitivity, bleeding, appearance, nothing is too small.
- Step 2
Cleaning and scaling
The hygienist removes plaque and tartar above and below the gumline, then polishes your teeth. If you're sensitive, say so: we adapt.
- Step 3
Dentist's exam
The dentist examines each tooth, your gums, your bite and your tissues. Digital X-rays are taken when needed — low dose, and only when they add useful information.
- Step 4
Plan and advice
You leave knowing exactly where you stand: what's fine, what needs watching, and what we recommend — with costs, before you decide.
What it changes
- Clean teeth, fresh breath, gums that stop bleeding
- Problems handled while they're small
- Fewer major treatments over the years
- A team that knows your mouth and its history
Frequently asked questions
For most people, every six months. Depending on your gums, cavity risk or health, the dentist may suggest a shorter or longer interval — it's personalized.
It shouldn't. If your gums are inflamed or your teeth sensitive, you may feel some discomfort; tell the hygienist, who will adjust the technique or offer local anaesthesia.
No. They're taken based on your situation, typically every 12 to 24 months for screening X-rays. Ours are digital, which greatly reduces the dose.
Not at all, and you're not alone. We start fresh, without judgement, with a complete check-up. Many of our patients started back exactly this way.
