Frequently asked questions
Answers to the questions we're asked most often. Missing one? Call us.
General
Yes. We welcome new patients from Vaudreuil-Dorion and the surrounding area, adults and children alike. Call us at 450 510-1717 or fill out the appointment request form and we'll call you back to set up a first visit.
For most people, an exam and cleaning every six months is enough to prevent problems or catch them early. If you have sensitive gums, a lot of tartar buildup or certain health conditions, your dentist may suggest coming in more often. We adjust the schedule to your mouth, not the other way around.
Yes, we care for the whole family, from toddlers to grandparents. A first visit can happen as soon as the first teeth come in, or around age one. With children, we take time to get acquainted and explain each step so the visit goes smoothly.
Yes. Our whole team serves patients in both French and English, at the front desk and in the treatment room. Just let us know your preferred language when you book.
Yes. Three dentists practise at the clinic: Dr. Alireza Toussi, Dr. Elie Mouannes and Dr. Kara Ness. If you have a preference, tell us when you book and we'll do our best to accommodate it, depending on availability.
Appointments
Two ways: call us at 450 510-1717 during opening hours, or fill out the online appointment request form at any time. Either way, we confirm the date and time with you by phone.
A piece of ID, your dental insurance card if you have one, a list of your medications (including supplements) and, if possible, recent X-rays or your previous dentist's contact information. Allow a few extra minutes to fill out your health questionnaire.
Usually 60 to 90 minutes. That gives us time to get acquainted, review your health history, do a complete exam with any necessary X-rays and, in most cases, a cleaning. The exact length depends on your needs; we'll let you know when you book.
It happens, and we understand. Let us know as early as possible at 450 510-1717: the sooner you tell us, the easier it is to offer the slot to another patient and find you a new time that works.
Emergencies
Call us at 450 510-1717 as soon as we open and describe what's happening: severe pain, a broken tooth, swelling, bleeding. We'll tell you what to do in the meantime and look for the earliest possible time to see you. If swelling makes it hard to breathe or swallow, or after a serious injury, go to the hospital emergency department or call 911.
We do our best to see urgent cases quickly, but it depends on the day's schedule. The best thing is to call early: we'll assess the situation with you over the phone and offer the first available opening.
Time matters: the chances of saving a permanent tooth are best within the first hour. Hold the tooth by the crown (the white part), never by the root. If it's dirty, rinse it briefly with water without scrubbing. If you can, place it back in its socket and bite gently on a clean cloth; otherwise keep it in milk or in your saliva. Call us right away. For a baby tooth, don't reinsert it, but do have it checked.
